It is with sadness we announce the passing of Doris on November 13, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband Henry Lawrence Grant, son Richard Grant and her two sisters Barbara Ridgewell and Marion Herbert.
She is survived by her two daughters Debbie Grant Pearson (David), Lynn Seguin (Doug), and daughter-in-law Lynn Grant. She was blessed with four grandchildren Darren (Pam), Cheryl (Nareg), Nadia (Neil), and Kelsey (Zeca) along with nine great grandchildren.
Doris came to Canada as a war bride in 1945, but always left a piece of her heart in her homeland. She was a proud Brit and happily shared her love for England and the many traditions she brought with her to Canada.
The welcome mat was always outside the door for family, friends and even those she did not know. We all have many memories of happy gatherings at 277; her British hospitality constantly shone through with fine food and good cheer.
If she was not entertaining, Doris was often busy putting her creative side to use, making unique gifts, taking care of the animals around her or working hard in her garden.
Our family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to John and Gloria, who lovingly supported and cared for Doris for several years. We also wish to thank the CLSC staff who became a large part of her family, as well as the staff from Amika. Their genuine dedication to Doris’ wellbeing for so many years was recognized and appreciated by all of us. The care she was given made such a difference to her life and to ours.
Doris will be sorely missed by those whose lives she touched.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, December 10th at the Yves Legare Funeral Complex located at 123 Maple Boulevard, Chateauguay, QC J6J 3P9.
Visitation with family and friends will be held from Noon to 12:45pm.
A funeral service will follow at 1:00pm in the Chapel of the Complex, lead by Reverend Nicholas Forte of Saint Georges Anglican Church, with music provided by Cheryl and Susan Maude.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a charity of your choice, in her memory, would be appreciated.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Doris Grant 1922-2022 2023..
