It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorianne McCaskill, 51, of Saint John, NB. Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of Terry McCaskill (Lizotte) and the late Larry McCaskill. She will be forever missed by her Mom; her son Jacob Palmer; her brother Rick McCaskill (Pam); her niece Annie McCaskill and nephew Marshall McCaskill; her best friends: Kim, Carlene, Michelle & Nancy; as well as by many aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends.
She was born on December 9 and got to enjoy being an only child for a few years before graduating into a big sister to Rick. After graduating from Saint Vincent’s high school, she easily connected with people everywhere she worked. Her work family was important to her and she made a lasting impression on them all with her professionalism and friendship.
Dorianne loved music and concerts. Her passion for Michael Buble was obvious to anyone who knew her. She also loved hockey, gardening, sipping a beer and spending time with her friends and family. Trips to Florida made great family memories.
She held her family together at the “camp” after her Dad passed away. She was always making her home on the lake beautiful with plants and flowers. Dorianne took care of everyone around her and still made time for long walks in Rockwood Park with loved ones. If you’ve spent any time with Jacob, you know that she was a great mom. She had to be, because she raised an amazing human.
Her smile, huge heart and quick wit will be missed by all. She was truly beautiful, inside and out.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, NB (506-646-2424). The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday August 21, 2023 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be held on Tuesday August 22, 2023 at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be held in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Donations to Saint John Regional Hospital Radiation / Oncology thegive.ca/ways-to-give would be appreciated by the family.
