Shields, Doreen
Doreen Shields (Dunn), age 94 of Hamilton, ON passed away peacefully on July 31, 2023. Predeceased by her husband Daniel Shields and her mother Florence Dunn. Doreen is survived by her son Wayne (Debbie) Shields and her beloved granddaughter Taura (Dan) Caroscio and grandsons Brandon (Brett) and Jason Shields. She will be deeply missed by her great-grandchildren Matteo & Mason Caroscio and Connor & Sydney Shields. Doreen celebrated over 25 years working for Eaton’s and her volunteer time was spent at numerous committees and events for St Patrick’s Church. She loved music especially, Frank Sinatra who always put a smile on her face and enjoyed spending the evenings watching baseball and curling. Her sense of humour, friendship and love will be deeply missed. At Doreen’s request, cremation has already taken place and will be followed by a private family service.
Doreen Shields (Dunn), God saw you getting tired, a cure was not to be, so he put his arms around you and whispered, “Come with me”. Thank you for always placing your arms around me; your unconditional love from the moment I was born and throughout my life has been a strength I have relied on. The last few years we changed roles and I became your strength and will be forever grateful for this special time together. Having you in my life has made me the women I am today. Thank you for always supporting and believing in me; you are truly my angel. I am so blessed and proud to be your granddaughter, always in my heart, Taura.
