Donna Laursen
beloved, mother, grandmother, sister, partner and friend, passed away suddenly Wednesday, March 1st, 2022, in Strathroy, Ontario at the age of 76.
Donna was born in 1946 in London Ontario, one of 6 children. Donna retired after many years from the Thames Valley School Board.
Donna was a kind, generous, loving person and loved her family with every fiber of her being. She was the mother of Kim, Kelly (Tony) Dortmans. Donna was the proud grandma of Luke and Keith. Donna enjoyed nothing more than being with her family, she loved the holidays, was amazing at home decor and crafty things. Donna enjoyed theatre and was her grandchildren’s super fan to all sports teams rarely missing an event with her long-time partner John Clarke (February 5, 2023). Donna is survived by her sister Sandy Smyth of Alberta. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, extended family and her many friends throughout her life.
Donna’s family wishes to extend their gratitude and thanks to the family and close friends, and care staff she had in her life. Donna will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. A celebration of Donna’s life will be held on Sunday, March 19th, 2023 from 1:00p.m.- 3:00p.m. at DENNING’S OF STRATHROY. As expressions of sympathy, donations can be made to the cancer society.
