Obituary For Donald Wesley Robertson

It is with heavy hearts, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of our Dad, husband, son, brother, uncle, grandpa, and friend, peacefully at the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital at the age of 64.
Donald (Donnie) was born in Weyburn Saskatchewan, to Bob and Pat Robertson, He grew up with his siblings Ken and Sharon, in Yellow Grass Saskatchewan. In the late 1970’s he would venture off to pursue his career in Alberta.
In 1985, Donnie would marry Marcy McMillan, where they would spend the next 16 years as pipeline gypsies living and working all over western Canada, “chasing Right of way”. In 1990 they would welcome their first-born Mark Allan, followed by their second Wesley Lawrence in 1991.
In 2001 he finally grew roots and purchased his acreage “the farm” west of Grande Prairie where it would become the hub for afterwork gatherings with friends and family, he spent the rest of his career working for Kendal Pipeline, and Evergreen Energy.
In 2013 he retired from Evergreen Energy where he would start to enjoy in his new found spare time quadding and camping with friends and family, and his personal favorite, yardwork, where he would keep his yard groomed to a PGA course standard. If he wasn’t on the mower, you could always find him entertaining friends and family in the shop. Where the ice cube trays were always full, and grandpa’s candy supply was never ending.
In 2014 Donnie would graduate to grandpa, welcoming the birth of the first grandchild Ellie, shortly followed by Rylee, Lexi, Emett, and Mack. There would be no more free time with his five busy grandchildren, golf cart rides around the acreage, sleepovers, and lunch dates among all other extra activities became his new priorities. The Saskatchewan Rough Riders and the Boston Bruins lost a number 1 fan with the passing of Don.
Don is survived by his wife Marcy, his sons Mark (Dallas) and Wes (Bayla), grandchildren; Ellie, Rylee, Lexi, Emett, and Mac, daughter in law Sadye Bozarth, mother, Pat, sister Sharon (Jim), nephew Derek (Trina), and niece Dayna (Brayden), and mother in law, Donna
Don is pre-deceased by his grandmother Mae, father Bob, and brother Ken,
For all of those wishing to come for one more round, tell some lies, and share some stories, a celebration of life will be held at the acreage at a date to be determined.
