It is with great sorrow the family of Donald Robert “Bob” McGowan announce his passing on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at Bobby’s Hospice. Beloved husband of the late Ruth McGowan (2022). Much loved father of Tanya (Mike) McKinley and Arlene (Sandy) McLeod and the loving grandfather of Carrie McLeod (Tyler Hartt) and Jesse McKinley. He is predeceased by his brother Ronald McGowan. He will also be dearly missed by many other family members and friends. Bob was well known as a “Jack of all trades”. He loved his truck, maybe even a little too much. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he loved hockey and baseball. Families as far as Ontario would come to Bob, because he knew where the good Dulce was and when he wasn’t picking dulce he could be found riding his favorite lawn tractor. The family would like to thank the Palliative unit at SJRH & Bobby’s Hospice for their care & kindness.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care and direction of the Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (506-646-2424), friends will be received on Friday, July 7th from 12-2 p.m. A funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment Maces Bay Cemetery. Donations to Bobby’s Hospice, the Kidney Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
