BERGIN, Diane – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beautiful Diane Bergin (née Leduc) on May 30th, 2023 at the age of 88. She was the daughter of the late Eugène Leduc and Marie-Rose Lagrois, loyal wife of the late Gerald Bergin, and sister of Roger (Jacqueline), Raymond (Claire), Aline (Edmond), Marcel (Françoise), Jacqueline (Onésime), Jeanine and Rita. She leaves, in sorrow, her children Elizabeth (Nou-Nou) Susanne, Michael (Cipriana), Claire (Tim), Patrick (Bev), and her grandchildren Christa (Chris), Jess (Melanie), Corinna (Andrew), Jonathan (Abbygail), Jasper-Lynn, Ryan (Lindsey), Hannah (Curtis), Christopher, Sonya, Thomas, and Matthew, and great grandchildren Victoria, Nicholas, Juno, Raiden, Theodore, Éloïse, Lilia, and Carly. Diane embodied what it means to have a heart of gold. Diane’s presence and words were always pure – she was kind, compassionate, and gentle. Diane and her home were the heart of the family. She valued love of family and was loved dearly by her family. This was evident throughout her years of being a grandma, all the way up until her final moments before her journey to the afterlife. Diane was surrounded by love because she is love. An earth angel. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, charming laugh, love of sports and chocolate ice cream, and (by cousin Jess) turning 57 every year for her birthday . She always had unlimited popsicles stored in her back freezer for her grandchildren. She was the best grandmother any grandchild could ask for. Diane inspires us to strive for goodness, appreciate the extraordinary in the ordinary, and focus on the things that mean the most in life: family and faith. Once an earth angel and now an angel in heaven. We will deeply miss Diane but it brings us joy to know that her soul is serene in the presence of her loved ones who have passed before her. We remember now, and always, our beloved Diane Bergin, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
“We love you forever and we know how much you love us.”
Respecting Diane’s wishes cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements will be private. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Online Condolences may be left at www.nevillefuneralhome.ca
