DETENSHEN Marjorie Olive.
Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Portal Village Retirement Home on April 28, 2023 in her 96th year. Dear wife of the late John Detenshen. Loving mother of David and the late Margaret Detenshen and Wendy Waines and husband Bob. Loving grandmother of Dallas Waines, Amanda Waines-Pablo (Alex), Jared Detenshen, Sara Tady (Shawn) and Jessica Tenove (Jeff). Great grandmother of Oliver and Charlie-Rose Tenove. Predeceased by brother Stanley Major, sisters Joyce Spring and Geraldine Powell. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Marjorie and John were proud owners of Johnny’s Drive In “The Long Dawg” for over 30 years until retirement in 1977. They chose to live a slower pace after 12 hour days and moved to a 10 acre country home in Dunnville. Marjorie was never idle and eventually took up many artistic endeavours learning how to play the organ and ukulele, crafting paper tole art which led to the creation of another business called Creative Dimensions with picture framing, stained glass and finally her true passion of card making. She enjoyed weekly meetings with fellow crafters “The Bag Ladies” and the Ukulele Group. She resided at Portal Village her last four years where she received excellent care from the compassionate staff. A life well lived, Marjorie wished cremation with no service. If desired, donations to the Salvation Army would be appreciated. Online condolences jwhartfuneralhome.com
