With profound sadness and broken hearts we announce the passing of Derrick Gordon Learning on Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at the HSC after a courageous battle with the incurable disease known as “Vexas Syndrome”.
Predeceased by parents, Gordon and Florence Learning,
parents-in-law, James and Sheila O’Grady, brother-in-law
James O’Grady and his furry friends (Ben, Sebastian and Nicko). Leaving to mourn his best friend and caregiver, wife Sharon, his precious daughter, Andrea, his special sister Doreen (Lonnie Power), sister Bernice Learning (Keith Kendall), brother Ross (Frances), sisters-in-law, Bernice Power (Bob), Carol Kendall (Ed), Sheila Pottle (Ralph), Madonna O’Grady, brothers-in-law Derm O’Grady (Jackie), Greg O’Grady (Wynn Ann), many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Much appreciation given to the staff of 5SB for the exceptional care and kindness shown to Derrick and family during the past month.
As per Derrick’s request, cremation has taken place with no visitation. Funeral service will take place at Caul’s Chapel on Friday February 10,2023 at 1:00 pm for family
and close friends
