McClellan, Deborah Anne, 70, of Richmond, NS, passed away on March 3,2023 in the Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Liverpool, NS she was a daughter to the late Bert and Muriel (Charest) Sprague. Deborah graduated from LRHS in 1971 and moved to Halifax and Hamilton ON to pursue a career in journalism. She then met and married her husband Ian. He was in hotel management and they were able to travel and sail extensively along the Atlantic coast. The next move was to the UK,.where Deborah worked in real estate for 20 years, moving back to Nova Scotia in 2008. Here she made a wonderful life for herself and Ian with many new friends who welcomed them into the community.. She loved to garden, her knitting and hooking group and especially her loving companion, cat Barney. Deborah is survived by her sister, Donna (John) Murray, Hunts Point; sister in law, Joanne Sprague, Sand Beach; step daughter, Laura Swan; step grandchildren, Henry and Maeve. Aside from her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband, Ian McClellan and brother, David Sprague. As per Deborah’s wishes there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Yarmouth SPCA.
