It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of our sister, mother, wife and godmom, Deborah Ann Magnan at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre Intensive Care Unit on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at the age of 67 years. Deborah was born in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia on May 18, 1956 to her parents, the late Albert A. Magnan and Helen M. Magnan (nee Haggett) of North Sydney, where Deborah was raised. Deborah worked in the Diamond Mines in the Northwest Territories, the pipelines, and hotel and kitchen camp jobs. Deborah was an active member of the Local ‘92’ Union. She loved being with family and friends, and loved animals such as horses and cats, which she rescued and rehabilitated and found forever homes for. Deborah always had pets and loved them all dearly. Deborah leaves behind her three fur babies, Mama, Mew Mew, and Bill, who followed her everywhere. Deborah will be lovingly remembered by her common-law husband of many years, Spencer Corville, her son, John D.E. Magnan, her sisters, Mairina Arellano (Johnie) and Brenda MacCormick (John), her brother, A. Arnold Magnan Jr. (Judy), and many nieces, nephews, her grandnephew, her grandnieces and her goddaughter, Miranda MacCormick, who was always helping Deborah alongside other members of Deborah’s family, while she was at the hospital. Deborah was predeceased by her parents, her sister, Helen Hopkins and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Hopkins. Cremation was entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. A Celebration of Deborah’s Life will take place at a later date. Condolences, memories and photos may be shared and viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com.
