Deanna spent the first six years of her life in Humboldt, Sask. with her parents, Bill and Lucille Minney and her sister Arlene. A few years after her father’s death in 1942 the family moved to Prince Albert, Sask .
As a young adult Deanna spent some time in the Royal Canadian Air Force and then moved to the British Columbia Lower Mainland to be near her mother. Deanna spent her career working for B.C. Telephones. Her family remembers Deanna as a happy young woman who loved sports, sporting events , music and concerts and was involved in many activities with her family, friends and co- workers. Most of all she loved to clean and many of us benefitted from her efforts. She will also be remembered for her generosity. In her later years she was active with the Seventh Day Adventist Church. After the death of her mother, Deanna retired to Chilliwack, BC. In June of 2022 Deanna moved to the Revera Care Home in Okotoks, Alberta assisted by Glenn and Jayme Cartier.
Deanna is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Arlene and Allister Cartier, five nieces and nephews, Karen and Duayne Aries, Glenn and Jayme Cartier, Ken and Leslie Cartier, Craig and Patti Cartier and Maria Cartier. Also surviving is her aunt Alice Bremner, fourteen great nieces and nephews and five great-great nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Deanna’s life by her family.

To the family of Deanna Minney,
I would like to send my sympathy to Deanna’s family. I am May Van De Wark, and I am ” The Lady that plays the ukulele.” Deanna was my friend, and she was such a help to me when I had Hymn Sing every other Thursday morning, and Sing Along every Saturday evening. Deanna would be right there before we started, and would put out song books, help move chairs around and when we ended, she always stayed to help me gather up the song books. I enjoyed her friendship in the six or seven months that her lived in the facility with me. She was friendly and kind to everyone, and was always cheerful and pleasant. We became friends early on, and I would be grateful to Arlene, who sent the note to me, if she would send another note with my name on it, and give me a phone number to call you. I would very much like to speak with you if you don’t mind.
