Obituary of David Eugene Meldrum
David Eugene Meldrum
February 26, 1948 – May 3, 2023
After a lengthy illness, David passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Maureen Doyle and lovingly remembered by their daughter, Heather. Also remembered by his family in Nova Scotia and his good friends Larry and Paul. David grew up in Porter’s Lake, Nova Scotia where he drove taxi. He came to Ontario and settled in as a long-time taxi driver with Deluxe Taxi where he met Maureen. Together they started Moe’s Delivery in 2003. He loved to drive, meet people and build his model car collection. He was an animal lover known for driving around with our friend’s dog, Ralph. He was a familiar face around town in his car or, later on, in his electric wheelchair and will be sadly missed.
Friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation at NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville on Saturday May 13th, 2023 from 1 – 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to The Humane Society or Lakeridge Health Foundation.
