Gilchrist, David Hugh (Gilly) passed away suddenly on May 25,2023 Predeceased by his mother Beverley and niece Kristine. Survived by his father Bob, brother Doug (Monika), sister Lynn (Greg) and his nieces and nephews. A celebration od Dave’s life will be held on Saturday June 25,2023 @ Nanaimo Curling Club, 106 Wall Street, Nanaimo from 1-4:00.Please come and share some stories with us. David was born in Nanaimo December 03,1956. He grew up on Long Lake ,he loved water skiing and had his beloved horses on the family property. Dave was a member of the 1st Wellington Cubs and Scouts. He was a Vancouver Sun carrier for many years. Dave graduated from NDSS in 1974. He loved his motorcycle and Mustang. Dave has always loved animals and has had a variety over the years on farms, including pot bellied pigs, pigs, horses, cows, sheep, goats, chickens, dogs, as well as miniature Donkeys that were featured in the Nativity scene at Bowen Park. Gilchrist farm and hay sales sponsored a Women’s baseball team for several years. Dave had a great sense of humour and always had a story to tell in great detail. He loved his trips to the Dominican Republic with his buddy Dan. Dave will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
