Obituary of Dan Rickards
RICKARDS – Daniel James
1967-2023
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected but peaceful passing of Dan, on May 25th 2023, in the place he loved the most.
Daniel Rickards husband of Lynda Rickards, father of Kathleen and Robert (Courtney) and proud pappy to Jayse and Oaklyn Rickards. Beloved son of Ruth (nee Lawlor) and the late James (Jim) Rickards.
Dan was an adored farmer, mason, and friend to many. Dan could always cheer someone’s day up with his funny jokes, and all his stories he loved to share. Dan will be deeply missed by all his friends and family. He will forever be in our hearts.
Dan will be cremated as per his wishes. Following cremation, visitations will be held on May 30 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at James Reid Funeral Home, 1900 John Counter Blvd., Kingston, with a Masonic Service happening at 6:30pm prior to the 7-9pm visitation. Funeral service will be held in the chapel at James Reid Funeral Home on Wednesday May 31st at 11am with no reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society and Albion Lodge #109 of Harrowsmith in his name.
“It isn’t the farm that makes the farmer, it’s the love, the hard work, and the character.”
