Obituary
Peacefully at home, while surrounded by his loving family, Dan passed away on March 30, 2023 at the age of 72 years. Loved brother to Peter, Lorna Ann Armes (Bill), Mark, John, Paul and Mary-Anne Lightfoot (David). Predeceased by his parents Nicholas (1975), Lorna (nee Rankin) (2008), brother Billy (1959), and great niece Echo (2012). Kind and loving uncle to Peter Jr, Nancy (Shawn), Lee (Carey), and Jessica (Joe). Beloved “Uncle D” and bonus parent to Terra (Jon) and Tyler, with whom he shared his vast musical knowledge and adventures across the country. Gentle and tenderhearted great-uncle to Taylor (Wyatt), Elijah, Johnny, Evanthe, Alex, Matt, Jamie and Liam. “Greatest” great-uncle to Charlotte, Penelope and Theo.
Dan enjoyed his retirement years in Port Dover. Special thanks to Dr. Scher and Amanda for the kind and compassionate care.
Friends may visit with the family at KITCHING, STEEPE & LUDWIG FUNERAL HOME, 146 Mill St. N., Waterdown on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 5 p.m. until the start of the Memorial Service at 7 p.m. with a reception to follow in the Family Centre. Cremation has taken place.
