It is with profound sadness that the family announce the passing of Dagmar Inge Tauderer on May 29, 2023 after a brief illness in Lindsay. Cherished wife of Fran Suddard for 19 years. Loving Mom and Grandmoo of Lena (Todd), Eric (Channon), William and Hannah.
Dagmar will be fondly remembered by her sister Cris (Larry) of Edmonton and her niece Stephanie (Daniel) of Toronto.
Predeceased by her parents John (1995) and Rose (2017) of Edmonton formerly of Austria, and her brother-in-law Scott (2015) of Brampton. Missed by her feline companions, Kenzie, Lucy and Ralph.
After family, Dagmar’s first love was being a Registered Nurse. Shortly after relocating to Lindsay, Dagmar was employed at The Ross Memorial Hospital where, for over 20 years, she worked various units including Palliative, Medical and Continuing Care. After “retiring” from there, she continued her nursing career for another 10 years, looking after residents at Pinecrest Nursing Home in Bobcaygeon.
In Dag’s off time, she enjoyed swimming, which stemmed from her high school days as a lifeguard in Edmonton. Later she became an avid quilter, giving many away as gifts to friends and family. And then there was knitting: socks, dishcloths, hats, and scarves which sometimes became blankets overnight! Dagmar shared her love of cooking with her mother and daughter, often poring over cookbooks, recipes from magazines, and online food sites. She kept everyone in the family very well fed!!
Dagmar has touched many people during her lifetime and always for the better.
As per Dagmar’s wishes, no service will be held.
A special heartfelt thank you to the Palliative Unit’s nurses and staff at The Ross Memorial Hospital.
Memorial donations in Dagmar’s name to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Palliative unit at The Ross Memorial Hospital or the Humane Society of Kawartha Lakes would be appreciated.
