The passing of Constance “Connie” Virginia Gilmore of Fredericton , NB , wife of Paul Gilmore, occurred on Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on May 30, 1952 in Campbellton , NB , she was the daughter of the late Lancelot “Bud” and Doris (Burlock) Hovey. Connie’s interests included, photography, nature, her rock collection, scrapbooking, gardening, flowers, drives throughout the province and her grandchildren. Family was a driving force; she was a unifying force and a gentle empathetic person.
In addition to her husband, Connie is survived by her sons, Garth Gilmore (Jen) and Kirk Gilmore (Tara); granddaughters, Karleigh and Olivia; siblings, Sylvia Cormier, Gerald “Lance” Hovey, Wilson Hovey (Belinda Schatz) and Roger Hovey and their families; special friends, Sally Williams and Geneva Murphy.
Besides her parents, Connie was predeceased by her infant sister, Melissa Ruth.
Visitation will take place at York Funeral, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton, NB on Friday, July 28, 2023 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Service will take place from York Funeral Home’s T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Saturday, July 29, 2023 at 11 am with Rev. Chris Bennett officiating. Interment will take place in Douglas Rural Cemetery . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick or to the Parkinson Foundation.
