Obituary of Clayton Emil Walls
1935 – 2023
Clayton, better known a Clay, has left this world for a better place. He passed away peacefully on February 7, 2023 during the night at the Strathmore Hospital, one month before his 88th birthday.
Clay is survived by his sons, Terry, Darryl, Marvin and Scott (Coreena). Also by his grandchildren Meaghan, Keshia, Joshua, Caylen (Ashleigh), Brandi (Brandon) and Rae. His great grandchildren Rylee, Benjamin, Westlyn, Lincoln, and future twins in March. He is also survived by his brother Eldon and his sister Henrietta.
Clay was predeceased by his parents Henry and Elizabeth, his brothers Thomas and Ivan, and his sisters Audrey and Doris.
Clay spent the majority of his working life firstly as a heavy duty mechanic and then as a welder working all over Alberta in the late 1970’s. He came back to the Strathmore area to farm with his father and then purchased land near the Crowfoot Hall where he and his first wife Sonja built a farmstead. Clay sold the farm in the early 1990’s and moved to Strathmore where he set up a welding shop where he worked until he retired.
Clay was known for his big smile, contagious laugh and big heart. His door was always open and a pot of coffee on. He was truly loved and will be forever missed.
