It is with heartfelt sorrow we announce the passing of our father Claude Milton (June as he was referred to by many) Serrick surrounded by loved ones at the Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook on June 26, 2023, at the young age of 91.
Leaving behind his children: Marilyn, Guy (Maureen), Debbie (Brad) Easton, Colleen Elms (Rod), Cyril (Judy), grandchildren: Claudia (John) Lush, Stephanie Tulk, Kayla (Kenny) Spence, Matthew (Shawn) Serrick- Perry, Jessica (Chad) Marsh, Hilary Easton, Amber Lee Elms, Andrew Elms (Bailey), Conner, great grandchildren: Isaiah, Arlo, Rex, and Amelia, sisters-in-law: Beulah Pinksen, Doreen MacPherson, Meta Sharpe, Ina Curlew, and Jane Keats and brother-in-law: Cyril Goodyear.
He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years Kay, Toots as she was lovingly referred to, his parents: Claude and Olive Serrick, parents-in-law: Samuel and Philipina Keats, brothers: Ward (Grace) and Jim (Dorothy): sister Shirley Goodyear, brothers-in-law: Jack, Harvey, and Clevis Keats, and Lawrence Earle, sisters-in-law: Ivy Keats and Patsy Earle.
Father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend, Dad will be sadly missed. He was a quiet/shy man who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends playing a good game of cards. He especially enjoyed spending time rummaging in his shed and would pass many hours doing so. In recent years, he liked watching Jeopardy, the Price is Right, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and exercising on his Cubii. He had a renewed love for music and especially loved cuddling the family cat, Billie, and it was quite obvious the feeling was mutual. The two of them enjoyed many a nap together. He also loved his sweets, especially chocolate and coconut cream pie.
As per Dad’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no funeral service.
We’ll always remember you Dad because there will never be another one to replace you in our hearts, and the love we will always have for you.
