It is with great sadness that the family of Jack Chew Tor Chow announce his passing on March 7, 2023 in Scarborough, Ontario. He was born on October 23, 1923 in Hoi Ping, China. Growing up on his family farm, he dreamed of better opportunities and left his village to study bookkeeping and to start a family. Jack emigrated to Canada in 1949 and, for many years, worked as a printing press operator in Toronto for Shing Wah Daily News followed by Sing Tao Daily newspaper.
Jack was a loving family man who enjoyed playing mahjong, table tennis, and practicing Tai chi, and had an enthusiasm for traveling. He was also an accomplished artist in Chinese brush painting and created many beautiful pieces of art that his family will forever cherish.
He is predeceased by his wife Chun Chee Fong. He is survived by his brother Thomas Chow, and by his three children Harry, Helen and Henry. He will be greatly missed by his 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Our precious memories fill our hearts with love and gratitude for the warmth and joy he shared with us all.
