Obituary of Charleen Louise Thomson
On, Wednesday, July 19, 2023 Charleen Louise Thomson of Cut Knife, SK passed away at home at the age of 66.
Charleen is survived by her brother John Thomson of Cut Knife, sisters, Lucynda and her husband Andy Takacs of Airdrie, AB and their sons Jeffrey, Warren and Darrell and his wife Leah and infant son Atlas; sister Lynette and her husband Erin Ireland of Lloydminster, SK and their children Isaac (April Melin) and Jill. She is also survived by her Aunt Jacquie Goodall as well as numerous cousins. Charleen was predeceased by her parents Elmer and Connie Thomson.
Charleen was born on June 12, 1967 in Cut Knife, SK. She was the first child of Elmer and Connie and was the apple of their eyes as well, she was the first Grandchild for Robert and Ruth Goodall. In the next ten years there were many changes for Charleen with the addition of her sister Lucynda, brother John and finally baby sister, Lynette. As well she started school and moved from the little one room house through the trees to the big house where she spent the rest of her life.
In 1980, Charleen followed her life long dream of joining the Canadian Armed Forces. However, she found this was not the correct life path for her and she returned to the farm after partially completing her Basic Training. Charleen then spent the next several years helping Mom and Dad on the farm as well as working at The Country Roads Motel as both a chambermaid and front desk clerk.
Charleen loved her family and was so excited to spend time with her nephews and niece.
Charleen loved to read and watch TV (Bones, NCIS and Law and Order being some of her favorite shows), she was also an avid movie watcher. In her younger years she also enjoyed doing beautiful embroidery work.
Charleen enjoyed trips to town to go to the library, to the movies, to watch a hockey game or to simply pick up the mail and a few groceries.
Charleen loved being on the farm and watching all the wildlife that would pass by her. She always had a house cat which was spoilt terribly.
Charleen enjoyed visiting and always had a new picture that she had taken on her phone that she would eagerly share with everyone she saw.
Charleen will be missed by all.
A Family Service for Charleen will be held at a later date
