It is with sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Cecile Veniot wife of the late John Veniot, which occurred on Tuesday, April 18th, 2023 at the Chaleur Regional Hospital in Bathurst at the age of 94.
Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Edouard and Dora (Boucher) Arseneau.
She is survived by her children: Sheila, Connie (Ronald Doucet), Barry (late Joyce Kennedy), Debbie (Bradley Smith), Donald (Mary Pelkola) and Danny (Lisa Rodgers) all of Bathurst.
Five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren as well many nieces, nephews, cousins.
She is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Lucille Deslauriers of Cornwall, ON, Marie Buch of Halifax and special friend, Lillianne Doucet.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by sisters: Mary Hannan, Clare Daigle, Carmelita Pitre, Anita Kenny, Alexandra Arseneau and brothers: Cyr and Cléo Arseneau.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday May 24th, 2023 at 11 a.m. from Elhatton’s Funeral Home Chapel.
Donations in memory of Cecile may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of the Herman J. Good VC Branch 18 of the Royal Canadian Legion or a charity of the donor’s choice.
