Obituary
Cecile Buck, a woman known for her kindness, deep faith, and unwavering love for her family, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Extendicare Halton Hills in her 89th year. She was the beloved wife of the late Bill Buck and the cherished mother of Valerie (Tommy Knowles) and Cheryl (Rob Giesbrecht). Cecile was a loving grandmother to Alison Rideout (Jagger), Natasha, Stephanie, and Jillian Knowles, Sidney, Jacob, Josiah, and Will Giesbrecht and the late Virginia Knowles. She was also blessed with the role of a great grandmother to Westley and Scarlett Rideout.
Cecile was born in St. Boniface, Manitoba, to Gabriel and Lumina Cloutier. She was one of sixteen children, which instilled in her a strong sense of family and a deep appreciation for the joys of togetherness. Throughout her life, Cecile remained devoted to her family and created a warm and welcoming home where everyone felt loved and accepted.
Cecile was a woman of remarkable kindness, always ready to lend a helping hand and support those in need. Her generosity and compassion touched the lives of many, and she had a special ability to make everyone feel valued and cared for. Whether it was offering a listening ear, or providing a comforting presence, Cecile’s impact on the lives of others was immeasurable.
Her unwavering faith was an integral part of her life. Cecile found solace and strength in her spirituality, and her devotion to her beliefs guided her actions and interactions with others. She was an active member of her Holy Cross Church community, where she found inspiration and fellowship with fellow members of the Catholic Women’s League.
Cecile leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and faith. She will be deeply missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown, on Thursday, July 6, 2023 between 6:00 – 8:00 p.m., with prayers at 7:45 p.m
A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at Holy Cross Church, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown, at 10:30 a.m. Reception to follow in Church Hall. A private family burial will be held at the Greenwood Cemetery.
