It is with great sorrow that the family announces her sudden passing at home on Sunday, January 8th, 2023, at the age of 59. Beloved wife of Walter Naveau. Loving mother of Sarah Woolf (Metin), Jonn Naveau (Niibin Kwe), Fallon Worme (Dylan Boissoneau), Noconi Naveau, Tyler Justin Naveau, Max Naveau and Ethan Naveau. Cherished grandmother of Sadie, Jackson, Mason, Vincent and Dion. She will be greatly missed by her mother Jeanette (Ruth) Eyahpaise; her siblings Jennifer Worme, Cory Amiskusees (Tzena) and Allison George (Charles) and by many nieces and nephews.
Cathy is predeceased by her father Vincent Amiskusees and by her two sisters Carol Isbister (Donald) and Lydia Worme (Glen).
Cathy loved her family whole heartly. She had a passion for education and was a pillar to further education of the indigenous people, following in her father’s footsteps.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 14th, 2023, at 12 (noon) p.m. at the Mattagami First Nation Community Center. Interment will take place at the Mattagami First Nation Cemetery with a luncheon to follow. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 13th, 2023, starting at 3 p.m. at the Mattagami First Nation Community Center. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted with LESSARD-STEPHENS Funeral Home. Remembrance donations to The Living Space would be greatly appreciated.
