Obituary
Adshade, Carolyne Anne – 67, Oxford Junction, passed away July 31st, 2023 in Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, Amherst. Born in Springhill, she was a daughter of the late Walter “Bud” and Marie (Woodlock) Ross. In her career, Carolyne worked at Bragg Communications and Eastlink for many years. Carolyne and Norman lived in Westchester during the first part of their marriage. While in Westchester, Carolyne was a member of the Westchester Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered at many community events. She was an awesome cook and quilt maker. She sang and played guitar (with her partner in crime, Jocelyn), at many concerts and talent shows, or just for fun. Following her diagnosis, she found great comfort watching the hummingbirds and enjoying the many flowers that Norman and Jill planted each year outside her window. In the last 24 years, the visits from Jill, Jason, Teghan and Jackson were always filled with love and laughter and lasting memories. Special thanks to her VON family and the many friends whose visits she cherished. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Norman; daughter, Jill (Jason) Thorpe; grandchildren, Teghan and Jackson; brother, Walter (Ann); sisters, Patti (Michael) Porter; Linda (Craig) Rector. Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. Friday, August 4, followed by funeral service at 3 p.m., both in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematorium.
