The family wishes to announce the unexpected passing of their beloved mother and grandmother Carolyn Marie Ward (nee Long), formerly of Langton, on Sunday, June 11, 2023 at the age of 72 years.
Survived by her loving friend Lester Shelly.
Loving mother to Mike (Stephanie) Wedemeyer and Jeff (Melissa) Wedemeyer. Step-mother to Wayne (Julie) Shelly, Chris Shelly and Robin Shelly. Proud grandmother to Mike Jr., David, Jeffrey, Jasmine, Joshua, Alexis, Brandon and Ryan, and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Survived by her siblings, Sharon Szoke and Robert (Pat) Long. Loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents Robert Long Sr. and Doris (nee McCord).
Carolyn will be remembered for her beautiful quilts and her love of knitting.
Family and friends will be received for visitation at Ostrander’s Funeral Home, 43 Bidwell Street, Tillsonburg, ON N4G 3T6 (519) 842-5221 on Friday June 16, 2023 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm. Cremation will take place following the visitation. A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held immediately following the visitation at Jeff Wedemeyer’s residence – 84 McDowell Rd. E., Simcoe, Ontario (Look for the Big Chicken on the Barn).
Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully appreciated and may be arranged directly on-line or through Ostrander’s Funeral Home.
