Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of Carmen Marie Cormier, wife of the late Paul Cormier, announces her passing on August 12, 2023, at the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home. Born in Saint John on March 23, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Robert W. and Isabel I. (White) Staples.
Carmen loved gardening and took a lot of pride in homemaking. She was an avid reader, as well as bird watcher. Carmen also liked to knit and crotchet, creating Afghans and other beautiful items.
Carmen is survived by her daughters: Paulette (Paul) Robertson and Denise (Mark) Smith; son: David Gerard Cormier; grandchildren Karla Gagnon, Bryan Robertson, Thomas Robertson, Erin Wright, Matthew Smith; great grandchildren Riley Gagnon, Alexander Gagnon, Isabelle Gagnon, Aryaunna Wright, Mackenzie Smith, Avery Smith; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and her parents, Carmen was predeceased by her sister Peggy Mullin and brother Joseph Staples.
Arrangements are entrusted to Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road (646-2424). A Funeral Liturgy will be held in the Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday August 18, 2023, at 11AM. Interment will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Church of St. John and St. Stephen Home or NB Cancer Society would be appreciated by family.
