Carl was born in Chaplin, SK to John and Delphine Higgins in May, 1941. Carl worked as a water well driller for 29 years until he started up his own company, Higgins Well Services, where he specialized in Well Servicing and Environmental Drilling until his retirement in 2008. Carl enjoyed many activities and hobbies from golfing, camping, hunting, fishing, and gardening, to woodworking and playing cards. He is lovingly remembered as a warm and kind hearted man who had an amazing ability to connect with kids. Without a doubt, his favorite pastime was spending quality time with his family.
Carl was predeceased by his sisters, Darlene and Marlene.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Evelyn Higgins;
his son, Darcy (Monica) Higgins and their children Steele (Allie) Higgins; Colin (Candace) Higgins and their children Morgan and Brock Higgins;
his daughter, Terry (Doug) Hall and their daughter Jasmine Hall;
his son, Bud (Heather) Higgins and their children Joseph and Kayla Higgins;
his daughter, Leath (Roy) Schiller and their son Daniel (Brittany) Schiller;
his daughter, Jody (David) Sutherland and their children Kale, Tyson and Levi Sutherland;
his daughter, Jackie (Reuben) Shoemaker and their daughter Shailyn (Dean) Slobogian;
his sister, Patsy (Gord) Hallborg,
as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family extends their gratitude to all the staff at the Nipawin Hospital for their care and compassion, as well as to all the friends and family for their well wishes and kind deeds during this time.
A private graveside service will be held at a later date.
