Obituary of Capt. CJ Farrell
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Capt. CJ Farrell on July 10th, 2023, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital in Fredericton, NB. Born in Alabama, USA, on October 1, 1972, he was the son of Carol (Crosta) and the late Francis Farrell, and the beloved spouse of Isadora “Izzy” (Tricoli) Farrell.
CJ took great pride in his work and service. He wasn’t afraid to say what was on his mind; but was always there to lend a hand or shoulder or sympathetic ear when needed. His unique sense of humor, infectious laugh, and mischievous smirk will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife, Izzy, and mother, Carol, CJ is survived by his brother, Francis “Butch” Farrell, childhood best friend, Heather Knoop, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
CJ was predeceased by his father, Francis, and a brother, Christopher Farrell.
We would like to express our extreme gratitude to CJ’s care team on 3W and Palliative Care. They took amazing care of CJ not just physically but also did everything in their power to ensure a calm, peaceful environment when he needed it most. They were kind and patient, never too busy to stop and say hi or reassure him and our family during the truly difficult times. They made his comfort not just a goal but a priority. In those final days they celebrated the good times and were quick to offer a kind word or hug during the truly challenging times. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
A memorial service will be held in August, with a time and place to be announced later.
For those who wish, donations in CJ’s memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
