Kerry’s Obituary
Passed peacefully away at Dr. A. A. Wilkinson Memorial Hospital, Old Perlican on December 27, 2024, Kerry Penny of Hant’s Harbour, age 79 years.
Predeceased by parents: Archibald and Chattie Penny; sister: Doreen Knee; parents-in-law: Ben and Amelia Marsh; sister-in-law: Naomi Seward.
Leaving to mourn, wife: Shirley; daughter: Cheryl (Alan) Ash; son: Ewan (Casey); grandchildren: Samantha (Khab), Avery (Keisha), Claira (Evan), and Abbigail; great-grandchild: Rowan; aunt: Eliza Hann; also a large number of special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Kerry was an outdoor enthusiast. He dearly loved going trouting in his spare time, hunting, and cutting his winter’s wood. The wood box was never empty and the fire always blazing at their house. He dearly missed his trips in the woods in the later years, but still managed to saw his wood by the door and keep the wood box filled.
His pride and joy will always be his grandchildren and great-grandson. He will forever be watching over them as their guardian angel.
We would like to extend a thank you to past and present homecare workers and a very special thank you to Colleen George for her care and dedication to Kerry over the past two weeks. Special thanks to Dr. Nel for his exceptional care of Kerry over the years and this week, also to the nursing staff of Dr. A.A. Wilkinson hospital for the exceptional care and compassion this week. You went above and beyond whenever Kerry was in your care. Thank you to the Ambulance workers over the years who took exceptional care of Kerry as well.
Visitation at Green’s Funeral Home, Main Road, Winterton on Monday, December 30 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
A family funeral service to take place on Tuesday December 31, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. from Green’s Funeral Home, Winterton.
