Obituary
It is with heavy hearts the family of Thomas Joseph Poole, announces his sudden, tragic passing on December 21st 2024, at the Health Sciences Centre.
Predeceased by his parents: William and Johanna Poole, Sisters Patricia Keefe, Bridget (Patrick) Power, Iris (Thomas) Doyle, Sharon Beck and Brother Wayne Poole.
Leaving to mourn is his devoted daughter: Jennifer (Nathan) Mercer; grandchildren whom he dearly loved, Audrey, Luke and Caleb. Also leaving to mourn is his dear sisters Marilyn and Jean (Randy) Wheeler. Sister-in-Law Theresa Tobin and Brother-in-Law Dave Beck. Close special long time friends, who cared deeply and visited often: Dorothy Taylor, her daughter Cathy Dene Taylor Rooney, and Ted Kenny. As well as a large and loving circle of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Born Thomas Joseph Poole of Marysvale, Newfoundland on May 17th, 1958. Tom’s love for his family was unwavering. His three Grandchildren were the lights of his life. He enjoyed many years working in Alberta and the Labourers Union, where he made a profound impact to fellow members and friends. His love for life and willingness to help others left a lasting impact on anyone who had encountered him.
Special thanks to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre and the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary who provided support to Tom and his family in his last difficult days.
Cremation has taken place, and visitation will be held at Caul’s Funeral Home, LaMarchant Road on, Sunday December 29th from 11:30 am to 9 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 30th, 2024, at 11 a.m. from Caul’s Funeral Home chapel, LeMarchant Road.
Donations can be made to the Huntington’s Society in his memory.
