Mary “Elizabeth” Hubley (nee Cantwell)
November 30, 1947 – May 5, 2024
With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Elizabeth Hubley, 76 years old, of St. John’s, NL in the presence of her loving family.
Leaving to mourn her husband, Gary Hubley, children – Scott (Sandra), Terri (Graham), and Robyn (Denis) and treasured grandchildren Alexis, Raiya, Michael, Ryanne, Anna and Charlotte.
Elizabeth had a wonderful sense of humor and was known for her generosity and hospitality, welcoming family and friends many times a year to stay when they came home to NL. Elizabeth worked hard for the family business continuing to work right up until her final days. She will be forever missed.
The family wish to express sincere appreciation and gratitude to dear friends Florence and Mike Brawley, and Cynthia and Phil Whelan for their help and support in the weeks leading up to Elizabeth’s passing. Sincere thanks as well to the nursing, medical and housekeeping staff of 4SA HSC for their compassionate care of Elizabeth and her family in her final days.
In honour of Elizabeth’s wishes, no visitation or service will be held. Donations in her memory can be made to The Lung Association or the Alzheimer’s Society of Newfoundland.
A Funeral Mass will be held at the Basilica of St. John the Baptist, on Thursday, May 9th, 2024 at 2 p.m. with inurnment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
