Margo Hefferan (nee Power)
October 24, 1957 – June 23, 2024
It is with heavy yet peaceful hearts that the family of Margo Hefferan (Power) of the Goulds announce her passing at home on June 23rd, 2024.
Predeceased by her parents Tony and Marjorie Power, brother Glen Power, sister-in-law Debbie Power and brother-in-law Philip Dinn.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories her husband Leo Hefferan, sons Scott (Adele), Shawn (Marie) and Trevor, grandsons Cohen and Jake, siblings Donna (Paul), Cathy, Karl (Stephanie) and Dale, as well as, numerous relatives and friends who Margo loved dearly.
Margo’s strength and bravery while battling her illness were a true testament of her personality. As a mother she taught her children what it meant to work hard, be resilient, but most importantly, how to love. With the support and devotion of her husband Leo, she made a home in Bellevue Beach, creating a life full of treasured memories along the way. Margo also had a love of the game of softball. In her years as a coach, she helped many young players and taught many valuable lessons, not just about the game, but about life. The game of life isn’t always about winning; it’s about working hard, playing fair, being devoted and just having fun. These were all values that Margo instilled.
A celebration of Margo’s life will be held in Bellevue on Sunday, June 30th from 1:00- 4:00 in the Parish hall. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, July 3rd at 11:00, St. Kevin’s Church, Goulds, interment at St. Kevin’s R.C. Cemetery, followed by celebration of life at St. Kevin’s Parish Hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Janeway Children’s Hospital. A special thank-you to the palliative care doctors, nurses and paramedical response teams from Carbonear and Whitbourne General Hospitals, as well as, Margo’s sisters for the extra care, support and love they provided throughout her illness.
