Kathleen (Kay) Power ascended to heaven in the loving presence of her niece Yvonne and sister Christina on April 8, 2024, after a long hard year battling cancer and other health issues.
Aunt Kay was a sociable person who made friends easily. Even in her last year, despite her ill health she was still hosting get togethers and meals for friends and family. She often made homemade rolls for family and even did so just two weeks ago. God love her heart.
Aunt Kay loved all holidays especially Christmas when she decorated her place to the hilt. Her door was always adorned with the holiday of the month, whether that be a St Patrick’s leprechaun hat or a Halloween pumpkin.
Up until her diagnosis, she had been very active with her daily walks around the pond, the neighborhood and bowling from time to time.
Aunt Kay had just moved into a seniors home not even two weeks prior to her passing, where she brought her guitar (still determined to learn it), knitting and crochet needles (for herself and extras for others in case they wanted to learn) and many of her decorations knowing that there would be celebrations to come. Always hopeful and planning for the future…
She has rejoined her parents Elizabeth (Marrie) and Richard Power and siblings Theresa Power, Annie Nolan (Jimmy), Agnes Hickey (Gerald), Kevin (Mary) Power and Michael (Ethel) Power
Leaving to mourn sister Christina O’Keefe, and brother Adrian Power (Windsor, ON) and brother-in-law Donald O’Keefe.
Feeling a deep loss are the nieces and nephews she was especially close to having lived with them for their formative years: Yvonne O’Keefe, Douglas O’Keefe (Nicholle) and Cathy Russell (Elmo.) Also mourning her loss are nieces and nephews Lauren Russell, Alexander Russell, Joey O’Keefe, Sean O’Keefe, Shannon O’Keefe, Julia Power-Andrews (Sam), Barb Windsor (Bert), Frank Power, Michelle (Danny) Whitten, Marilyn Courish, Ryan Power, Justin (Eva) Power, Melissa Pearcey, Mike Power, Rick Power, Christina Power, Ken Power, Keith Power, Kelly Power,. Special friends Madonna Ballard, Rhonda Denine, Elizabeth Mayo, Theresa Ralph, Shirley Walsh and many others.
We will miss her dearly.
May she rest in peace now free from pain. God rest her soul.
