Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of David Byrne on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at the age of 67. He was predeceased by parents Mike and Emily Byrne, sister Eileen, and brothers Baby Byrne, Ken, Leo, Jack, Doug.
Mourning his loss are son, David; twin brother, Michael (Gen); other siblings, Jerry (Emily), Maureen (Pat), Tish (Laura), Joseph, and Ron (Anne). Also, many nieces and nephews and life long friends.
David was an active member of the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary until his retirement in 2011, after spending many years serving his community. David loved his family, his trouting, and one of his favourite places to spend time trouting and writing was Middle Gull Pond. He was a man who felt deeply, laughed often with family, and expressed his feelings through his self-reflective writing and humour.
His service will be at a later date, and after a small, private and personal reflection, he will be cremated as per his wishes.
