After a short illness following a long battle with cancer with family by her side Carol Ann passed to a sweet repose, on the evening of May 16, 2024.
Predeceased by her parents James and Mary Spurrell, and brother Billy (Marilyn), in laws; Heath, Wallace, and Zona.
Leaving with fond and loving memories her husband Bruce of 55 years, sons; William (Niki), James, and daughter Susan (Michael). Nana had four beautiful granddaughters; Hannah, Katie, Natalie, and Heather, who she called her angels. Brothers; David (Carol), Edward (Madonna), in-laws; Elizabeth (Stuart), Mary Douglas (Paul), and Heather, as well as all of her nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Carol Ann had an abundance of loyal friends who Carol Ann met and grew with over the years from alma mater Mount Saint Vincent, working for CBC television, playing bridge, curling, tennis, volunteerism at St. Clare’s and the Gathering Place, all of whom she loved dearly. As well as lifelong friend Ethel Dobbin.
Nana (Carol Ann) left a legacy of hope, inspiration, and resilience. Her unwavering optimism serves as a guiding light to others, showing that even in the light of adversity, it is possible to find joy and purpose. Nana’s legacy is one of encouragement, reminding us to focus on the good in life, and to spread kindness and positivity to others.
Wonderful bouquets to the doctors and nurses at the Miller Center, and the H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Center with thanks to Dr. Powell. Special thanks to Dr. Paula Walsh who was not only her doctor but a friend and support to the whole family.
Grateful to lifelong friends Kay and Kyla Connors for their undying love and attention that made the passing tolerable.
Visitation will take place at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, May 22 at 11 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at 11 a.m.
