Betty Ann Morgan
February 5, 1958 – April 22, 2024
With heavy hearts we share the passing of our beloved mother, wife, sister, nanny and friend, Betty Ann Morgan on Monday the 22 of April, in this final year of her grace, 2024. Betty Ann departed us peacefully at the Health Science Centre in the loving and supportive presence of her family.
Predeceased by her parents Nellie and Tom, sister Mary Cullen, and brothers Edmund, Gerry, Paul and Chris Cullen. Betty Ann is survived by her husband of 32 years James Morgan, her daughter Bobbi Jo Morgan, future son-in-law Nicholas Dalton, son Shane Morgan, extended grandchildren Hudson and Oscar Dubé, grand-dogs Roo and Max. Sisters Regina Crane, Geraldine Abbott and Pauline Guha. Brothers Richard Cullen and Gary Cullen. Also celebrating her life of laughter and conversation, a connected circle of family and friends whose unconditional love and support never wavered throughout this journey.
Betty Ann’s passion for the outdoors was evidenced by her love of early morning cod fishing, seasonal moose hunting and splitting wood with her best friends Richard and Myrtle Cullen. Her indoor pursuits were well known to the communities of Bacon Cove/Conception Harbour as she was a regular fixture at weekly Bingo. Daily speaker phone calls where she listened, offered advice and spread the news to those who had the fortune of having her as their confidant. Ending these and in-person conversations, she would pick up the broken pieces with, “You’re right.”, “Go on.”, “That’s the truth.”
Those of us remaining in her absence will reflect on her influence: a strong woman with conviction, a protective mother full of love, a jovial partner ready for banter, and a compassionate soul fiercely proud of all whom she called family.
We thank the caring staff of Dr H. Bliss Murphy’s Cancer Center and 5NA at the Health Science Center for their overwhelming support and care. Dr Lake and the supporting staff at the dispensary. Words fail to convey our gratitude.
Following Betty Ann’s request, cremation has occurred and although there will be no funeral service, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Dr. H Bliss Murphy’s Cancer Centre Foundation.
