Ruby Wheeler Obituary
It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Ruby Catherine Wheeler, age 68 years, of Summerford, NL announce her passing at the Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Twillingate, NL on Thursday, December 19, 2024.
She is predeceased by her parents Selby & Olive Verge, parents-in-law Maxwell & Dorothy Wheeler, 1 brother and a number of brothers & sisters-in-law.
Left with fond and loving memories of 48 years are her husband Leroy, children Nancy (Carl), Janis (T.J.), Travis (Heather), grandchildren Jeremy, Rikita, Tyson, Caleb, great-grandchild Alyus, a number of siblings, step-grandchildren, a special friend of 53 years Ruby Clarke as well as a large number of extended family and friends.
In the fall of 1974 Leroy & Ruby found each other and fell deeply in love. On February 13, 1976 they were married and together they raised 3 children.
Ruby loved the outdoor life, fishing and ice fishing. She was an active member of her church and loved participating in women’s groups. She had too many friends to name them all but loved each dearly. Ruby’s hard work prevailed until she could no longer do so. Her family provided happy moments and will be forever remembered.
Her family wishes to thank the Long Term Care Unit, Notre Dame Bay Memorial Health Centre, Twillingate, NL for all their care and compassion.
Resting at the Summerford Pentecostal Church with public visitation on Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place from the church on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor H. Troake officiating.
Donations in Ruby’s memory may be given to her family.
