Corbett “Carb” Burt Obituary
Corbett Burt also known as Carb, age 84 years, formerly of Virgin Arm, NL passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, NL on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.
He is predeceased by his parents Charlie & Adelaide Burt, precious granddaughter Johnny Lee Burt-Walsh, daughter-in-law Ruby Francis, sisters Muriel Young, Vera Shea, Elizabeth Burt and brother Douglas Burt.
Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Myrtle of 65 years, children Everett (Juanita), Moss (Sharon), Tanya, Gloria (Wade) Ings, Peggy, Leroy (Carmen). Carb’s pride & joy were his grandchildren. He described them as his gifts from God. He leaves behind to become the guardian angel for 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-granddaughter, brothers Charles & Baxter (Bernice) as well a large circle of extended family and friends including the residents of Oram’s Bethesda Manor, Gander, NL.
Carb was born April 3, 1939 on Fogo Island, NL and relocated to Virgin Arm, NL in his early 20’s. There he met his loving wife Myrtle (Anstey) and they raised 6 beautiful children. Carb was a jack of all trades and a master of carpentry.
The Burt family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Paulas and all the nursing & support staff at the James Paton Memorial Health Centre, Gander, NL. Your professionalism and nature kind nature has eased our journey.
