Muriel Chaisson Obituary
We the family announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother, Muriel Chaisson, on September 28th, 2024 in her 99th year, surrounded by her family.
Mom was a true artist with yarn and needles, she found joy in knitting socks and mittens for her loved ones, each stitch a symbol of her warmth and generosity. Her creations not only kept her family cozy but also served as a reminder of her boundless love.
Muriel was also known for her remarkable skills in the kitchen. Her home was always filled with the comforting aroma of freshly baked bread, a testament to her passion for cooking. She took great pride in preparing meals that brought her large family together, feeding both their bodies and souls.
One of her greatest joys was the simple act of connection. Daily phone calls to each of her children were her way of staying close, sharing stories, laughter, and love. These moments were cherished by all who had the privilege of hearing her voice, a constant source of comfort and guidance.
Her home was her sanctuary, and she took great pleasure in keeping it spotless. She often found peace in rearranging her beloved knick-knacks, ensuring that each one had its perfect place, reflecting her deep appreciation for beauty and order.
Muriel will be remembered for her love, generosity, and tireless devotion to her family. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy of warmth and care will live on in the hearts of those she touched.
She leaves to mourn with many loving and precious memories: sons: Joe (Nellie), George (Gail), Wilson (Sylvia), Terry (Rebecca), Melvin, Decian; daughters: Elevina, Verna (Mike), Marietta (Herman), Cecilia (Melvin), Sheila (Melvin), Judy (Harrison); 29 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren, as well as a large circle of extended family and friends.
Muriel was predeceased by: husband Adolph; daughter Medeline; son Allan, parents Joseph and Irene Lemoine.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 29th at St. Ann’s Chapel, Mainland from 2:00-4:00 & 7:00-9:00 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 1st at 2:00 PM. Interment to follow at the Roman Catholic Cemetery, Mainland.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Nurse Practitioner Wendy Squires and the staff of Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital for their compassionate care and support. Special appreciation is also given to the End of Life Program team, whose kindness and dedication made a meaningful difference during Muriel’s final days.
