Samuel J. Parsons, age 81 passed peacefully at Health Science’s Centre on May 30, 2024.
Predeceased by his father Fred Smith; mother Leah Smith; stepson Scott Crocker.
Leaving to mourn his devoted wife Edna; sons Rodney (Nipa), Fred (Maria), and Blair; stepdaughter Sheila Thornhill (Bob); daughter-in-law Iris Mackey; brothers Jake (Hilda), Heber (Carmel); Grandchildren Sarah Parsons (Justin), Shauna Aylward (Brad), Tracey Crocker (Kendra), Jonathan Thornhill (Jayne), Saranya Larsson (Chad); great grandchildren Hannah, Maverick, Bobby, Lauren, and Gabriel; special long time friends Gerald and Claudette Coombs.
Sam was a loyal and devoted husband and a proud and passionate member of the Lions Club for over 40 years. His other passions included travelling and playing golf

Cremation has taken place, visitation will be held at Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Ave, St. John’s on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 from 2:00 – 8:00 pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Barrett’s St. John’s Chapel on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 11:00 am with a reception to follow. Interment will take place on Thursday, June 6, 2024 at 11:00 am at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Lions Club, Mount Pearl branch in Samuel’s honor.
