Cecil Francis “Rick” Warford
October 01, 1959 – December 11, 2023
On December 11, 2023 God called our sweet, caring and loving Cecil Francis (Rick) Warford to his heavenly home. He passed peacefully away surrounded by his loving and devoted family after a short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 64.
Leaving to mourn his loss the love of his life, partner for 41 years, his queen, Bonnie Newhook Wells; his daughter Christa Mahoney always his little girl, and his beautiful granddaughter Taylor Mahoney who was the light of his life. Throughout his illness his only concern was for his “girls.”
Also leaving to mourn his brothers and sisters; David (Ramona), Darren (Kate), Brenda (Raymond) and Tina Bishop (Cecil (Bud)); his brother and sisters-in-law from the Newhook family Don (Donna), Edward (Debbie), Wayne, Gary (Kim), Joy and Kathy.
He has many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Rick was a dispatcher with Northwest Taxi for more than 30 years and met many friends and colleagues along the way. He was always up for some fun, either on the patio with his neighbours, at Misty Blue or Frosty’s. He loved to party and enjoyed many nights with the friends he met who all loved him and will cherish his memory forever.
Special thanks to the staff of 6th West, St. Clare’s for the loving care they provided during his stay there. To Dr. Alex Dias and his team, Dr. Frank O’ Dea and his team who followed him through his journey. Finally, to the wonderful doctors and staff at the palliative care unit at the Dr. Leonard A. Miller Centre. Their kindness and compassion in his final days and hours was above and beyond anything we could have asked for. They are proof that angels walk among us.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 15th, 2023 from 11:00 am -9:00pm from Barrett’s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue. A funeral service will take place from Barrett’s Memorial Chapel, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Saturday, December 16th at 1:30pm.
Donations in Rick’s memory can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NL, The Canadian Diabetes Association of NL, or to the Alzheimer’s Society Canada
Rick you are in God’s arms now and in our hearts and in the hearts of all who love you for Forever & Always.
Always remember that he loved you all forever and always kids. WICKED!!
