Donald Paul Salvatore age 75 of Elmira, NY passed away on Thursday December 5, 2024 at Strong Memorial Hospital. Don was born June 10, 1949 in Ocala, Florida the son of the late Frank and Bertha Molnar Salvatore Sr. He was a graduate of Horseheads High School Class of 1967 received his Associates Degree from Corning Community College. Don was a guitar player in a band for 7 years, worked in the printing business at F.M. Howell in Elmira, NY for 32 years, and in the cleaning industry for 9 years. He also coached girls softball for 9 years. Don married his wife Kathleen Marie Osgood Salvatore on April 25, 1970 and they would have celebrated their 55th Wedding Anniversary on April 25, 2025 . He was also pre-deceased by his step-mother Hilde Baranyk-Salvatore , his brother Frank Salvatore Jr., and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mary Jo and Jim Bennett. Don loved his family and friends and treasured the time he spent with them. Don is survived by his loving and devoted wife Kathleen; his daughters and sons-in-law: Angela and Tom Leshick and Gina Salvatore and Jeff Cordes ; four grandchildren : Kristina and William Cowles , Michael Leshick and his fiancé Emily Evans, Mia Cordes , and Marin Cordes; brother and sister-in-law : Gary and Carol Salvatore ; sister and brother-in-law: Patricia and Mike Colwell; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: David and Sandra Osgood , Susan and Melvin Mansfield, Jeanne and Jerry Jones; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the LYNCH FUNERAL HOME 318 WEST BROAD STREET on Tuesday December 10, 2024 from 4-5:30 PM . Don’s Funeral Service will be held following calling hours at 5:30 PM. Deacon Al Pacete will officiate. The service will be live streamed and a link will be provided on the funeral home website. Don will be laid to rest in St. Mary Our Mother Cemetery in Horseheads, NY. In Lieu of flowers Memorial Contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society in Don’s memory.
