Jean was met in Heaven by her husband, Everett; granddaughter, Karen Walters; parents, Thomas and Cecilia Smith; brothers, Joe, Tom and Ren; sisters, Rachel and Lynn, parents in law, Thomas and Iris Walters, son in law, Norm Drakes.
Mom was born into a very loving family and carried that tradition on when her and dad raised 10 children. She always put us first no matter the situation. At the age of 18 she went to St. John’s to work as a house maid. She worked with several families, we grew up hearing all the stories. The good ones and the not so good ones. We all loved hearing her stories of her childhood, the love and affection. Mom was a care giver all her life, from helping with her siblings to caring for her mother in law (mudder) who passed away in her arms, she cared for dad until the day he passed away. Mom suffered with dementia, some days were so funny and some days were so sad.
Many thanks to mom’s homecare workers, especially her two caring angels Rozy Denty and Laurie Pardy, who have cared and loved mom for 5 years.
