It is with broken hearts that the family of the late Eugene Stapleton of St. John’s, formerly of Marystown announces his passing. Eugene passed away at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John’s on Tuesday, December 12th, 2023, at the age of 63.
Leaving to mourn with a lifetime of wonderful memories are his sisters, Bridget Stapleton (Anthony) of Creston North, Susan Stapleton (Wayne) of ON, Dorothy Stapleton (Edward) of Gander, Shirley Rideout of AB and Regina Smith (Roger) of AB; brothers, Don Stapleton of Marystown, Ron Stapleton of Marystown, Fred Stapleton of Marystown, Joe Stapleton (Kathleen) of Marystown, Larry Stapleton of Marystown, Cyril Stapleton (Brenda) of Gambo and Calvin Stapleton (Geraldine) of ON; plus a large circle of extended family and friends.
Eugene was predeceased by his parents, Lawrence and Magdalene Stapleton; nephew, Joey Stapleton; niece, Martha Flannigan; and sister in law, Jean Ann Dunphy.
In honoring his wishes cremation will take place.
The Stapleton Family will be accepting visitors at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South on

A prayer vigil will be held at Peninsula Funeral Home, Creston South on Tuesday, December 19th at 8pm.
In Eugene’s memory, in lieu of flowers, donations made be made to the family.
