Maxwell’s Obituary
Passed peacefully away on Thursday, December 8, 2023, at North Haven Manor in the presence of his loving wife and daughter, Mr. Maxwell Porter, a lifelong resident of Porterville.
He was predeceased by his parents, Caleb and Sarah Porter and was the baby brother to his decreased siblings, Harold and Harrison (his farm/forestry partner for many years); as well as his nine sisters, Gladys, Phyllis, Jessie, Julie, Edna, Edith, Lucy, Audrey and Minnie.
Max is survived by his wife of 73 years, Sheila; daughter, Maxine (Barry) Woolfrey; sons, Dennis (Florence), Barry (Alice) and David (Alma).He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories of POP eight grandchildren, Jody (Jo-Anne) Woolfrey, Heather (Geoff) Beaton, Denise (Steve) Stuckless, Darryl (Gerrilynn) Porter, Michael (Natalie) Porter, Jenna (Trevor) Manuel, Dylan (Jill) Porter and Sarah Porter; ten great-grandchildren, Amelia, Martha, Caleb, Cayden, Kaitlyn, Tara, Grace; poppy Max’s littlest ones Hannah, Brett and Ben as well as a large circle of other family and friends.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte, NL on Saturday, December 9, 2023 from 2-4PM and 7-9PM.
The Funeral Service will be held at the United Church in Porterville, NL on Sunday, December 10, 2023 at 2PM.
