Obituary
With gratitude and love, we announce the passing of Goldie Phoebe Snook, who left this world peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones. Goldie leaves behind a legacy of precious memories and a life will-lived.
Born in Boxey, Newfoundland, to the late Dora and George Samuel Miles, Goldie was an active member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, where her faith and compassion touched the lives of many. Her life was filled with passions that she shared generously, whether it was through her baking, cooking, or knitting-each of which brought comfort and joy to those around her. Above all, Goldie had a deep love for children, a love that extended far beyond her family.
Goldie is survived by her children; Cheater Snook (Karen), Anne Bursey (Ford), Margaret Porter (Paul), Colleen Bishop (Grey), Colette Jewer (Ken) and Susan Golding. She was a devoted grandmother to Amy (Chris), Alex (Julia), Elliott (Zanesha), Emily (Zachary), Eric, Samuel, Matthew, Jane, and Anna. She was also blessed to have four great-grandchildren; Ellis, Hattie, Lillian, and Violet. Goldie is lovingly remembered by her sister and brother-in-law; Bessie and Gordon Bartlett and their family.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Tiffany Village for their care and support over the past five years. Their kindness and dedication made a difference in Goldie’s life and in the lives of those who loved her.
Public visitation will take place from Gordon Woolfrey Funeral Home, 262 Main Street, Lewisporte on Tuesday September 10, 2024 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
