Dorothy “Dot” Hodges Johnson, age 94, of Knoxville, went home to the loving arms of Jesus on October 19, 2023. She was a longtime, faithful member of Loveland Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. She was a 1947 graduate of Rule High School. She retired as a bookkeeper from Ready Mix Concrete Company. Dot was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many. She loved to cook for her family and make sure that everyone was fed. If you came to her house, you probably got fed. She had a servant’s heart and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Dot was a wonderful example of a Godly Woman. Her family, friends and church family will have many wonderful memories to cherish of times spent together with Dot because of her sweet spirit, her devotion and willingness to always work and give of herself to make time spent together more special.
Preceded in death by parents, Claude and Goldie Whitton Hodges; loving husband, Arnold D. Johnson; brother, Earl Hodges; and sister, Mary Ann Wood.
Survived by son, Wayne Johnson; daughter, Donna (E.B.) Farmer; grandchildren, Evan Harrell (Misty) and Clay Harrell; brother, Howard (Joyce) Hodges; brother-in-law, Carl (Pat) Johnson; and several nieces and nephews.
Receiving of friends will be on Tuesday, October 24th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with the funeral service starting at 7:00 PM at Bridges Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Baird officiating.
