Teresa Merner Obituary
Passed peacefully away at the Health Sciences Center on Monday, January 29th, 2024 in the presence of her nephew Randy and his wife Elaine, Teresa Mary Merner, age 95.
Teresa was predeceased by her husband Basil, parents; John and Catherine Wade, brothers: William, Walter and Richard, sister Margaret, sisters-in-law; Betty Wade and Mary Wade, brothers-in-law; Michael Davis and Robert Downey and grandnephews; Davis Didham and Kyle Tremblett.
Leaving to mourn with loving memories are her daughter Janet Merner, living in Oshawa, brothers; John and Raymond, sisters Anna Marie Davis, Mary Hearn (Tom) and Marion Bonia (Allen), sisters-in-law; Helen Wade and Dorothy Wade, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.
Teresa took great comfort in her Christian faith, praying every day. She is remembered as a kind and generous lady who was a friend to all. Teresa was most at home in the fields and barrens of St. Mary’s Bay where she fished, hunted and berry picked. She always shared her annual bounty of berries with friends and family, delighting in their enjoyment of her hours of hard work. Having completed her earthly chores, she has been called home for a well-deserved rest.
The family extends special thanks to the staff at North Pond Personal Care Home, St. Clare’s, St. Patrick’s Mercy Home, and 4NB Health Sciences Center for the exceptional care Teresa received over the past years when she was no longer able to live independently.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at The Richard Fowler Spiritual Centre, Mount Carmel, SMB. on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 4:30 pm with inurnment to follow at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cemetery, Mount Carmel, SMB.
